Knowledge and Strengthening Leadership
The Kansas Nonprofit Centre has answered the calling for the state’s nonprofit sector to act as one and demonstration leader, educator, voice and ardent supporter of the 24,000+ Kansas nonprofits. The Kansas Nonprofit Centre is proud to serve our state’s most important social benefit sector with capacity building programs, education leadership, and membership benefits – all at a cost that every organization can afford.
Helping nonprofits, every day, realize their many possibilities and empowering the leadership is at the basic core of the Kansas Nonprofit Centre purpose. We believe that access to the best educators, important information and resources should not be available to only large organizations. If the information that large organization paying huge amounts is important for them. IT is important to all Kansas nonprofits. Attend as many Institute of Education Zoom Classes and come to a Kansas Leadership Summit, volunteer to participate in a Board committee or help the KNC leadership team raise the level of excellence in our education class by making a suggestion of topics that your organization needs or wants. All 2018 participants of education courses and Kansas Leadership Summits have told us that the expert instruction is something that they would not be able to acquire except through the Zoom technology or attending an all-day class. Many of the non-members that attend an education class become members.
The future of the Kansas Nonprofit Centre is very bright and moving forward. In 2019 we will be addressing many board and leadership issues. As stated in our mission we are a state association that will “leads, serves and strengthens the capacity of Kansas’ nonprofits that improves the community and quality of life throughout our state.

Knowledge and Empowerment
A fundamental mission of Kansas Nonprofit Centre is to assist our members, and non-members, by providing the highest quality nonprofit information knowledge, tools, connections and resources to maximize the impact of your mission. Education and resources are often limited unless you are a very large or national organization. For many organizations, staff size and time, let alone the money to go to training, is a huge barrier. They would like to offer education classes to their staff and leadership, but the factors of time lost in staff personnel, travel, training fees, and maybe even an overnight hotel bill can be costly. As a result of talking and listening to you about the issues and constraints you are confronted with, the Kansas Nonprofit Centre, Inc. proposes to change this landscape of costly education and resources.
Securing the Expertise
“Without knowledge and resources, we wander around without a purpose or direction.” Unknown
We provide professional, expert that set us apart. Acquiring diverse expert skills in fundraising, governance, operations, public relation, marketing, finance and compliance help all Kansas nonprofits each and every day by helping them to solve a problem and gain the knowledge to move the organization forward. Also developing current resources that are designed specifically for nonprofit leaders, staff and volunteers with the necessary tools to help their organizations become more effective and well-run. The staff at Kansas Nonprofit Centre seeks the best expert instructors from across the U.S.
Developing Board Accountability
The board makes the difference between a good nonprofit and a great one and can even make or break an organization.
Kansas Nonprofit Centre has at this core to assist organizations to build the best board members through continued education. Kansas Nonprofit Center – Institute of Board Leadership is committed to ensuring that the board leadership of our nonprofit sector reflects the rich diversity of each Kansas community. Through the Board Leadership Blueprint and Board Leadership Enhancement program, board members will have the skills, resources and diverse perspectives needed to assist the organization in improving performance and increasing the organization’s impact in the community.
Implementing Best Practices
Nonprofits can no longer operate with “good” intentions or ethics. Donors are looking to measure organizations trustworthiness. Funders are also looking for an impartial 3rd party agency that has scrutinized and evaluated the policies, ethics, best practices and fiscal controls of the nonprofit organization
The Kansas Nonprofit Centre Board of Directors and staff have partnered with Wise Giving and Standard of Excellence. These are classes that will assist organizations to acquire the seals that donors and corporations are looking forward before they give you the money.
The Kansas Nonprofit Centre Board and staff believe that this is so important that: KANSAS NONPROFIT CENTRE DID ACQUIRE THE “ACCREDITED CHARITY” STATUS AND THE SEAL IS ON OUR WEBSITE.
Building the Reputation for Greatness
When the board and staff of Kansas Nonprofit Centre thought about a conference, we were not sure about this format. There are too many class options and no tools provided in a conference format. In 2017 Kansas Nonprofit Centre implemented the all-day “focused” class. This all-day session was about Boards and Governance. We heard so many great things that the participates loved this format. They believed that the issue was explored through questions from the attendees and that they received an expert answer. They believed that this format allowed them to acquired practical knowledge and received tangible tools to take back to their board and implement the improvement of the board governance capability.
In 2018 we developed the title of “Kansas Leadership Summit”. Once again, we conducted a class about Boards and Governance. At this class, we had 40 attendees with 15 of those attendees being Board Presidents that came with the Executive Director. This was so good that many of those attending went back to their organization and implemented immediate changes in their boards. Once again, they received the tools and were empowered to lead.
