“Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done.” ~ Louis D. Brandeis
In 2014 the first introduction was made concerning statewide training. The seed was planted and continued to grow.
This growth stemmed from conversations in communities around Kansas. We realized just how void of quality, cost effective training/information was available to many nonprofits. It also was apparent that these nonprofits are often small and could not leave to attend training. Many were doing the best they could with small budgets and small staff. They want and need a method to acquire the training and additional resource information.
In 2015 Tabor College installed a state-of-the art “Zoom” room. This room is equipped with the ability to hold “inter-active” classroom webinar training. The attendee does not have to leave the office but can register to take the class. They must down load the Zoom platform (for free) and will then be given a log in to the class. In addition to being a part of the class they will be able to ask questions directly to the instructor and get an answer immediately. This platform makes it so much better than webinars were you just listen and email/call you question in. Tabor College has offered this room to the Kansas Nonprofit Centre, Inc. for $50 per day that training is in session. In-addition, they session will be recorded and archived in a library on the Kansas Nonprofit Centre’s website.
Instructors are being approached and secured to teach all aspects of Board governance, Executive leadership, and staff development. An organization is only as good as the information they are able to acquire.
The future looks bright and helping all nonprofits will make Kansas the shining star of nonprofits in the middle of the United States.
